Professional Dog Whistle

Using a whistle to teach your dog or puppy recall training can really help: It provides a clear signal. It's different from a possibly overly used recall word. And these super loud whistles can be heared for quite a distance. Why not use a silent whistle? Well, perhaps they are good - but you don't get any feed back on how it sounds and you can't be sure that you're giving the same signal. When teaching recall with a whistle, first decide on your whistle pattern, and then stick to that - 3 short beeps is a good choice.

Company of Animals Extendable Target Stick

A target stick can be a great asset to training - especially clicker training, but it works too for non-clicker reward based training. This target stick is 70cm when fully extended, and only about the size of a pen when not extended. It has a good quality feel about it, and a pen-like clip to clip onto your pocket or treat bag. Use your target stick to teach small (and large) dogs to walk to heel; to teach your dog to dance; to help them with agility training; and any other training which starts off with close control. Target sticks are also great for dogs who won't do anything unless you have food in your hand - you teach them to target the stick, and then produce a hidden treat, so using the stick as a lure instead of your hand. Are they good for puppy training? Yes, and target sticks area also great to use for those puppies who are a bit mouthy. Training instructions are enclosed.

Dog Training Lead / Double Lead -

This Dog Training Lead is a 2.5m double training lead and is suitable both for walking 2 dogs (see take-care!), or for using as a double length training lead. Each end has a spring clip, and there are also 2 metal rings at different points on the lead to provide for maximum adjustability - so the double lead can be used at a normal length, or several other lead lengths or positions.

I find the lead comfortable to hold, it's very easy to adjust, and doesn't tend to get tangled as I've noticed with some other double leads. Choose from Red or Black. We now only stocj the 19mm lead, again, as we find it more comfortable.

Use long training lines to help create a gradually increasing distance between yourself and your dog or puppy whilst your training your dog or puppy to come to you. Each long training line comes complete with instructions for teaching the basic recall exercise to your dog or puppy. The training line is also useful for controlled puppy socialisation.

They are made from very soft, black padded webbing.

Clicker Training for your dog and puppy

Clickers are an excellent way to train your dog. They work by making a unique, short noise which signals to the dog that they've done precisely what you wanted. Clicker training works best with treats.
